Going For It
Allow me to give you a warning:
If you ever tell me a dream you want to pursue, I will pursue you until you begin to pursue it.
That’s a whole lotta pursuing going on.
You see, I love seeing people take a dream, an idea, a God-given vision, and go for it.
Too many of us settle for a life of inaction and good intentions.
Allow me to share one of my dreams:
I want to write a book (or more).
I’ve written short stories (like this one) from time to time but never a book.
This summer I’m beginning work on my first book.
I’m going for it.
There are details to be worked out however, for now, I just need to write.
Stay tuned to the blog if you’re interested in following the journey.
From time to time, I’ll share more about the idea of the book, maybe some tidbits, and the publishing progress.
My friends at Project Church will be the ones helping me work through it as I’ll be incorporating some of my writings into the messages I teach during this summer.
Would appreciate your prayers and support.
And if you’re a writer, advice is always welcomed.
So that’s what I’m doing.
What about you?
What do you need to go for?

i am confident there is not just one book, but lots of books in you. no doubt God has called and gifted you to write. i will praying that your first pursuit will remain Jesus and that in that pursuit, He will give you favor, creativity, and the diligence required to write and write well.
i’m with you as you go for it!
Cory and I have been talking a lot about our dreams that seemed to have been put on the back burner these past few years. What you said about people settling for a life of inaction and good intentions… so true. Definitely not wanting to fall into that category. Ever.
I’m stoked for you, Jason. Awesome to see you diving into one of your dreams. The book will be nothing short of shear awesomeness. Can’t wait to hear more about it!
Glad to hear it! Looking forward to the conversations on this blog around the book!
GO FOR IT!
I read your short story about Charis & Leo (& Evan…). Good stuff, thanks for sharing. I’m writing from Texas, but my wife grew up near Rapid, in Gillette, WY. Her life is fairly close to Charis and while I’m no Leo, I’m farther from Evan and I’m glad to hear a story about Grace because we all need it. My church reflects grace, not perfectly, but my pastor is a reflection of your principles. Peace.
Hans –
Glad the story resonated with you and even more, grace.
Be well and thanks for connecting.
